If a 45 yr old Shannon Briggs can be a champion then rip HW boxing.

2016 has been at the glue again. What version of the title will this be for? The 'regular' title or the 'super' one?

They should have fed PED cheat Browne to PED cheat Ortiz IMO. That would of got rid of one of the bogus belts. They could then have fed Oquendo to the winner (Ortiz) before ordering a unification match with the super champion to clear up this ungodly mess.

Like I predicted when Wlad wouldn't get the WBA title fight directly, the belt will become the laughing stock of the division again. After Lewis dropped the belt it took over 11 years until the division's #1 was included in a WBA HW fight, and while many old, past it and mediocre HW's were passing it along in the meantime.

This fight, if true will be among the low points, and we'll probably see another circle jerk era

Who has Briggs beaten in the last 9 years to be considered as a contender for the WBA title?

    Answers on a postcard please.

The last thing he has done notable in terms of title contention was be beaten from pillar to post by Vitali, so badly that it left him retired for almost 4 years. Since then he has fought NO ONE.

At least Browne has beaten 2-3 decent fighters in the last 4 years to be where he is today.

If Briggs beats Browne, you can expect every heavyweight title holder (except Wilder) to call out Briggs for a fight.

just pretend the titles dont exist. its a good fight imo. but yes the disrespect to the titles isnt cool.

for one there only should be one champion per division. having all these belts is sooo stupid . makes no sense.
