This, it has nothing to do with entertainment.

I have no interest in this. I am a fan of odd number of rounds though which could help prevent dodgy Draw decision.

You can make the rounds shorter to get 15 with the same amount of fight time.

Sure he can. He is a well conditioned athlete. When he has gassed it was because he was loading up on power shots. If he paces himself he'll have no problem making it 15. Winning rounds and keeping up with Benavidez in particular over the course of the 15 is another story.

There are lots of arguments for and against.
I believe research has delved into the differences between 12 and 15 rounds.

Last week tragically saw the passing of another fighter in this magnificent yet utterly brutal sport of ours.

If it went back to 15 and something bad was to happen to a fighters health in rounds 13, 14 or 15, there would be a public outcry. There is already enough stain on this sport, boxing does that for itself.

This is 2025 and although I love the fights and fighters of the past and I think they were better than those of today, let the past be the past.

    Leave it at 12 rounds.

Its only 36 seconds shorter. I think thats an acceptable reduction. 2 minute 24 second rounds gets us 15 rounds without adding fight time. Women only fight for 2 minutes and thats still longer.

That's what caused deaths in the past!! Fighters come in too drained sooooo close to the fight!! Dehydrated and the reduced fluid around the brain can lead to serious injuries (and did so). It's almost like roll forward 30/40 years and we forget why 15 rounds was removed!!

What about the weight bully’s that have been manipulating the day before weigh ins since its inception ? Is that not also a valid safety reason ? Truth be told we have weight classes now that when a fighter does enter the ring on fight night they are sometimes multiple divisions higher than the one they are fighting in ! Same day weigh ins puts the fighters in the actual divisions they should be fighting in and not in a division they have manipulated with there better money and resources than there opponents have access to . Surely in todays era with the technology at hand now fighters can be monitored far better than they have in the past in regards to healthy cutting and making weight for fights .
