    Nothing wrong.
There might appear gold, platinum, palladium, silver, diamond, ruby and emerald belts.
    Everyone loves belts.
Everyone in industry: managers loves to have boxers with belts, PR ppl, agents, event's promoters.
Further: all ppl does loves belts: judges, refs, teams, boxing orgs, journalists.
Tickets buyers too loves belts. More belts: it is better.

I think the main question now is what belt has more value the WWE belt from Wall mart, or one of the 5 WBA world titles at the 17 different weight classes.

In am ranks it is very clear and plain& simple. " amateurs " does have national championship, some international tournaments, above this is continental level championship, above this world championship and Games once during 4 years period.
All is clear and pretty simple.

Pro boxing orgs too does have national, continental level titles, for british boxing : british, commonwealth titles.
Mesh started to appear when these orgs does have internim, franchise, international, intercontinental belts. It is thing people does have problems to understand hierarchy tree.

Love how they say 'vacated' rather than 'scrapped'

    I have the opposite take.

I can just about see the justification for an interim title. If a champ is injured and unable to defend his belt then an interim keeps the division moving, just as long as the interim and champion meet sooner rather than later to settle matters.

It's the idea of a 'secondary' belt which makes zero sense to me, given the title is 'World Champion'.

Clearly the WBA felt under some pressure and have scrapped the one set of belts that probably makes it the least money whilst keeping the ones that would be too risky in a legal/damages sense to simply scrap. They would be faced with lawsuits from boxers who have paid them licensing fees that they don't want to return.

This is probably also what lead to Daniel Dubois being made #1 in their rankings. After he just won the Interim against Dinu, which was ridiculous in itself.

There should be no belt besides the one on the champion, and then there should be title eliminators to decide who's mando.

Don't see why on earth we need more than one belt per boxing organisation. No one gives a **** about any other belt.

Intercontinental is fine. Because the holder still hold a rank. It's not a world title and equivalent to regional title.

Most problematic within WBA rank is still the dualism of 'super' and 'regular' world title. And added to that, it also has 'interim' and 'gold' title. A normal boxing organization rank have 15 top world rankers + world champion on top of the list, however in WBA case, they have 15 rankers + 2-3 names on top of the list. Gold Title is most ridiculous since the holder is no ranker nor world champion, so what the heck is he ?

It has got to the point where we need to get rid of all of the belts from all of the divisions.

We need only one world champion per weight class. With one set of genuine rankings underneath those.

You can’t reform the different trinket organisations at this point. It is easier to get rid of them all and start again.
