A new super heavyweight division will be one of the items on the agenda when principal members of the IBF, WBA and WBC meet on Friday in Cancun, Mexico. Those in attendance are to include WBC President José Sulaimán, WBC Executive Secretary Mauricio Sulaimán, WBC legal advsor Gabriel Peñagarícano, IBF President Marian Muhammad, IBF advisor Larry Hazzard, WBA Executive Vice-President GIlberto Jesus Mendoza and WBA ratings director Oliver Gómez.

“My expectation would be to continue with the good and close inter-organtization relations for the benefit of boxing,” said Mendoza Jr. who also plans to address the main threats to world boxing, such as alternative sports, the economic crisis, and the lack of boxing figures as ambassadors of the sport.

The agenda of the meeting in Mexico includes:
    1. Unifications of titles
    2. Inter-organizational classifications of boxers
    3. Working with local and national boxing commissions
    4. Creation of the super heavyweight division
    5. Proposed McCain legislation in the USA

The Inter-organizational classifications is great. The Creation of super-heavyweight is terrible.

it would be good if these organisations can agree on a way stop mandatories preventing unification fights.

    whats the proposed McCain legislation?

But each will still have their own champion meaning more fees from the boxers. Another weight class also means more money to the organize crooks.

It'd be great if they did the right thing and we ended up with 1 title per division.

I actually would like to see a Super Heavyweight division. Make Heavyweight from 190-230 or something, and then 230+ could be Super.

1 title per division would be great. But that's a thing of the past, unfortunatly.

Ya, can't even get 1 title per organization per division any more. :-(

Boxing would be better off without these guys.

These Boxing orgs are crooked as hell Boxing needs LESS Divisions not more. This is idiotic and just a way for them to get more sanctioning fees.

Why don't they just call it the Fat Fug Division? A lot more easier to identify.

Honestly, i wish there was a way these pieces of **** could be done away with....

    All boxing needs is

    HBO
    Showtime
    GBP
    Top Rank
The Ring (so we have one belt)

and a bunch of grass root style promoters/managers for their areas of the boxing world on low levels, like we already have, until they get to the big leagues.

    **** these belts....

i know that will never happen but.... seriously, when does it get to the point where the people in true control (HBO, Showtime, GBP, Top Rank, THE FIGHTERS!!!) stop letting these fools destroy boxing? (not that these enteties dont do their own share of damage themselves!)
