why the **** could guys like oscar and floyd sit on their titles forever, but the minute real fighters like cotto and margo wanna unify, there is no chance cause they'll strip margo 3 ****en months after crowning him :huh :huh :huh

if anything, they should give margo the extenstion cause he already beat the mandatory.....POLITICS ****EN SUCK
and in a few years, titles wont mean a damn thing, as it is, they're already starting to ****en suck ass !!!

    I agree..
Tho Both Cotto & Margo are one Fight away from Boxing Royalty IMO.
this fight will be their Legacy fight. (it will snowball from there for the winner)

You might've missed the last few months of boxing action and politics. Nobody wants to strip Magarito - it is his OWN PROMOTER that wants the title to become vacant so his other fighter, Joshua Clottey could fight for it. Nobody is talking about unicifation.

Since Margarito is the new IBF champ, sooner or later he has to fight his mandatory, and Bob Arum knows well that it's a fight Magarito can lose - so why not let him fight Cotto for the WBA title and let Clottey, another Top Rank fighter fight for the vacant IBF? It's that easy... in the end, Arum will still have two champions in the division.

This time, it thas nothing to do with the sanctioning bodies and nobody wants to stip Margarito... It's Arum who does not want to unify...

Cintron was mandated to fight Clottey who had fought in two eliminators ...

You're given a mandatory and then you're given a specific amount of time before you're obligated to fufill your mandatory. You are given some time to fight in some voluntary defenses --

Mayweather hasn't been mandated to fight anyone as of yet ... he fought Hatton who was the number 1 contender and now he's going to have a fight w/ Oscar (not for the title) ...

WBC has loyalty toward Floyd ... the IBF is the worst sanctioning body in the history of boxing. Letting Zab keep his title after losing to Baldomir. Stripping JMM Marquez ... Stripping Jermain Taylor ... stripping Ricky Hatton ...

It annoys me,when the WBC is proclaimed as the most prestigious organisation(a reason i wasnt bothered Witter, who often said it, was beaten)

its the most self serving and unfair.Their sanctioning rules are weighted towards star fighters far more than the other 3 because its structured to make them more money in fees.
I was reading the rules of the 4 bodies and the other 3 are NOT geared towards bigger sanctioning fees like The WBC;This leads to corruption and pampered champs.Thats why the Oscars and Floyds are never bothered with things like mandatories or earning title shots by them.

The much maligned WBO takes less of the fighters money than the others as a matter of interest,so doesnt need to fawn over their champs.

AND CLOTTEY IS :huh :huh :huh

i mean, why so much to push that mandatory...i know he's won his fights and deserves it, but it's not like he's the next big thing....if anything, margo is a top welter, not clottey......

    Bull****.

Mayweather wanted to unify against Corrales in 2000. Corrales was stripped of his belt.

Something similar happened at 147 (he was IBF beltholder and Baldomir was WBC beltholder).

So Mayweather has also suffered from that problem. Maybe Oscar hasn't, I don't know.

It seems that the WBC want to attract the big stars. Then, they do their very best to protect them from certain mandatories. It's easier to win an WBA or an IBF belt, though, it seems. Although...if you have a good promoter who is well connected, even the WBC belt is easier to get. Look at Froch! He might get that belt if he only beats Pascal!

I think Froch beats everyone who doesn't have a very good chin, even though he's so flawed. He has that great chin and that big punch, so he's always a threat to those who cannot take a very good punch. I was assuming Pascal's chin was less than very good. If it's not, then, of course, I wouldn't pick Froch so confidently. :good
