WBC are a disgrace if Whyte isn't offered mandatory status.

Obviously there's the Breazeale v Molina fiasco.....

    Whyte -
Beats Helenius for WBC Silver Title.....
Beats Browne for WBC Silver Title.....

Then, Whilst ranked WBC number 1, takes on WBC number 6.

    WBC Rankings

    1 . Dillian Whyte (Jamaica/GB) SILVER
2 . Dominic Breazeale (US) - Mandatory status after beating Molina who wasn't Top 10.
3 . Alexander Povetkin (Russia) - Fighting Joshua
4 . Luis Ortiz (Cuba) - Loss to Wilder
5 . Tony Bellew (GB) - Isn't a HW and only stepped up for Haye
6 . Joseph Parker (New Zealand) - Loss to Joshua+Whyte

    If not.......

We might aswell scrap mandatory status and just go 100% voluntary.

Whether you believe he gets KO'd, or whether you believe he wins, it's irrelevant.

The man deserves the chance and is quite rightly WBC number 1.

Thread title gave me a chuckle because, well, the WBC IS a disgrace. Why get upset about it? You can't count on the WBC, but you can count on them to be the WBC.

More likely, Chisora will be named #1. Or Stiverne again. Or maybe even Fujimoto. But Whyte...Naw.

Whyte now has a better resume than Wilder himself.

As said in original post, regardless whether you think he beats Wilder or not it’s a disgrace he hasn’t been made mandatory, yet Breazeale somehow was/is?

It is common knowledge who the WBC are associated with.

Whyte won't get the mandatory status regardless of who he beats, because WBC has "phony" contenders in almost every weight class that they use to bar anyone else from fighting their favored champion, given particular circumstance.

It used to be guys like Chris Arreola at HW, now it's Breazeale. Should Breazeale lose, you could expect Luis Ortiz as eternal #1 or #2, barring anyone else from becoming the mandatory. Don't be surprised if Charles Martin is somehow catapulted to top 5 soon for no apparent reason. That's the reason why Stiverne kept his high rating after losing to Wilder, and then become a mandatory again despite only beating an unknown journeyman. Luis Ortiz was not even rated by the WBC until recently. He is still a good fighter, but probably doesn't even realize that he is used as a "phony" contender, as neither he or Breazeale will get a title shot unless team Wilder wants it. Remember, Stiverne wasn't allowed to have an optional title defense, nor unify against Klitschko after he beat Arreola.

The WBC are actively included in promoting/protecting to their favored champions. That's why guys like Whyte and/or Povetkin would be wise not to waste valuable time of their careers going through the WBC route. If the cold war between team Wilder/Haymon/Showtime and Hearn/AJ continues, Wilder might not want to give Whyte his shot simply because he wants to prevent Hearn from having his way, and the WBC will be on board.

It's been very obvious for many years the WBC favours US based fighters, from the way Arreola got undeserved shot after undeserved shot, to how they gifted RJJ their belt which led them to being sued, to the current protection of Wilder and denial of Whyte and previously Fury to a deserved title shot.

WBC is basically a regional belt, might as well think of it a the US national belt as anyone outside of the US usually gets shunned unless your willing to pay for privileges.

Those who run the WBC have no honor and will just do whatever Wilder and his management want.

Deontay prefers to avoid prime decent heavyweights like Whyte, and instead face limited journeymen like Szpilka or old faded guys like Stiverne.

Your so right, and the worst thing is you can have similar arguments about the WBC in other divisions too. They are just a criminal outfit these days.

 yeah that's right, that's why WBC would be a disgrace.

Listen: WBC could give Whyte a golden crown and a $200 hand job and they'd still be an utterly corrupt disgrace.

Whyte's status will depend upon what it always depends upon. You probably know what that is.
