    - WBC rule 1.25 c):
"c) In the event that the holder of a WBC title is convicted and imprisoned for a crime involving moral turpitude, the WBC Board of Governors shall declare the champion's title vacated and the procedure to fill the vacant title is set out in these Rules and Regulations."

    - WBC rule 1.25 d):
“d) In the event any boxer rated for any WBC title has been convicted and imprisoned for a crime involving moral turpitude, such boxer will be dropped from the ratings.”

    - WBC won't take the title from Mayweather.
WBC-president Jose Sulaiman reason for why:
"Beating a lady is highly critical, but it is not a major sin or crime."

So, probably not shocking among boxing-fans. But, wouldn't it be a good marketing decision from WBC to do so? Have someone fight for the vacant title and then set up Mayweather vs. the winner?

Or is there another rule that can prevent this?

At least they dont like chiled molesters, as Dave Hilton was stripped back in the day by them.

But yeah, seems like they are breaking their own rules. Strip Mayweather.

might as well add this from the same rule-number.

“d) In the event any boxer rated for any WBC title has been convicted and imprisoned for a crime involving moral turpitude, such boxer will be dropped from the ratings.”

These clowns are only about money. No other fighter will get them the fees that Floyd will. They wont strip him for two reason 1) HIGH fees, 2) short jail time.

They dont have to strip a fighter, not to mention Floyd was actaully only convicted of taking her cell phone:good

No because Mayweather has demonstrated he doesn't need nor really care about belts. The WBC is the only sanctioning body he'll even recognize at this point, and stripping him won't mean he'll fight Aydin or whoever for the title; it means he'll just start treating the WBC like the other sanctioning bodies. He'll just ignore their ruling and continue to do whatever he wants, without of course now paying the sanctioning fee. The WBC has precisely zero leverage over Mayweather's actions.

its a short sentence not even a yr and any mandatory can be fought, any way they will just make an interim champ and give another guy the silver belt to keep money flowing

though they are giving special treatment to the big names like May and Hopkins

Also they may still drop him. Floyd can still appeal. They may just be waiting until Jan. 6 to drop him

Boxing commissioners only follow their rules when it is convenient to them.

Didn't they break like 20 of their own rules in the Rocchigiani affair? In fact I think they still pay him money every month.:rofl
