It's gonna look bad next time they enforce their own rules and strip a lesser known fighter fo going to jail for a similar offense.

And thread has me thinking again on what the world lost in those 3 best years of ALi. Because he would not partake in a bogus war of aggression, as most now realize.

    Not according to RIPCITY!!!

Apparently pleading no contest does not convict of of a crime.

Pleading no contest is like Michael Jordan challenges you to a one-on-one basketball and so you decline or plead a no contests. You lost but you will never know the score.

    WBC Championship Defense Obligations.
    a) Voluntary Defense Obligations: All WBC recognized champions must defend their title at least two (2) times a year. Champions will defend their titles either in a voluntary or mandatory defense
    b) Mandatory Defense Obligations. All WBC champions are obligated to make at least one yearly mandatory defense

Floyd should eventually be stripped anyway. Unless I'm mising something, he'd have to fight twice in 2012 and face a mandatory (Aydin). Not gonna happen.

It would be massive in Turkey or Germany. and help Floyd become the people's champion he wants to be all over the world.

It might not have to be Aydin though. The WBC have some sneaky clauses in their rules giving them the power to demand the two top rated available challengers face off to become the mandatory.

In this case Aydin is #1, Alexander is #2 (fighting Maidana), ortiz #3, Berto #4. Depending on who Floyd would prefer to fight out of the Alexander-Maidana, Ortiz-Berto winners, the WBC could make it happen by demanding Aydin defend his Silver belt against them mid year and Floyd can fight them at the end of the year to keep his belt. or they can pretend Aydin to pretend he's injured.
