The WBC would not approve the Shannon Briggs vs Deontay Wilder fight because of Briggs current ranking at #33 (I think :huh)and because of his age and health. Wilder has to face someone in the top 15 of the WBC rankings. I heard this today on SXM 93 The Hype Men Show. Both Wilder and Briggs called up to the show and argued live on the air and Deontay exposed Briggs problems with passing drug test and put the news out to him about the fight. Wilder and Briggs both want to fight but the WBC is blocking it.:-( Too bad for both guys it seems like both are ready. Briggs is from Brooklyn and frankly in my humble opinion is more known than Wilder. Yeah, cause Fujimoto is so much better than Briggs. Fuji would probably be another ko1 victim of Briggs. They'll probably approve someone even worse than Briggs, like Mansour (who poses 0 threat to Wilder, as opposed to the slim threat that Briggs would pose). Great job of WBC keeping their professional integrity. Sadly, the WBC actually has better rankings generally than most of the other abcs.
