WBC Cruiserweight Championship JOKE this weekend

    I remember once upon a time when you had to be at least ranked in the top 15 to get a crack at title. Krzysztof Włodarczyk defends his title this weekend against Jason Robinson. yeah the same Jason Robinson James Toney knocked out 8 years ago. heres a look at how he "earned" his title shot

    2002 KNOCKED OUT by James Toney
    2003 KNOCKED out in 2 rds by Ezra Sellers
    2004 Lost 10 round Unanimous dec to Grigory Drozd
    2005 INACTIVE
    2006 INACTIVE
    2007 KNOCKS out 16 wins and 22 losses Terry Porter in 5 rds
    2008 INACTIVE
    2009 INACTIVE
    2010 Won a 6 round dec over 10 wins and 13 losses Harvey Jolly (robinson down in round 1)
    2010 W10 rounder against 25-7 John McClain who boxrec had ranked as 165th in the world at cruiser

    so if my math is correct , the last 9 years he has 6 fights.....and has 3 wins....3 wins against opponents with a combined 39 losses and not even close to being ranked
    that is your joke of the day

    He beat John McClain? The guy who single-handedly took down about 14 Germans with guns, a chopper and a bomb? And he doesnt deserve a shot?

    I may be confusing him with someone else.

    Its not like Wlod is even a poor fighter or champion, he's actually pretty good and is a threat to a lot of people. Disappointed in his quality of opponent here.

    youre right, hes fought top guys in the division....im disappointed in the system that allows this. people cry and jump up and down that jermain taylor needs to retire after being kod in 2 fights.... but doesnt register that a guy like robinson has no business in the ring with a guy like Wold. God forbid robinson gets hurt, but then maybe people would open their eyes and start to ask why and how he was put into a ring with a world champion when he has no chance at winning

    Well, Wlod will likely take part in the coming unification fights, so maybe he's taking an easy fight while he can. I think his last fight was a war with Fragomeni.

    Maybe they could match him up with Frenkel next year?

    This. They didn't want to risk anything while the cruiserweight super six is being set up. I suspect this mess with Kessler and Abraham in the super middleweight one has caused a delay in the announcement for the cruiserweight version, but Sauerland's been talking pretty openly about setting that up and including Diablo in it (with Cunningham, Huck, Lebedev, Hernandez and a yet to be known fighter).
