So what happened to Wilder vs. AJ? Now they want him to fight the guy they banned before and who's 39 now to protect Wilder...

I'd love to see Povetkin finally accept a fight with Wilder. Hopefully he mans up this time after he's done with door man level Pricey... :drums:

Too bad Wilder doesn't embrace that idea.

Honestly what is even the point of drug testing. The WBC talk about cleaning up the sport with mandatory testing. meanwhile a repeat PED cheat is fighting for their belt soon, and they’re open to another repeat PED cheat fighting for it next?
What the lesson here? Be smart with your cycles or you’ll get a slight slap on the wrist then we will act like it never happened?

He's being guided toward AJ for the WBA mandatory so this is ultimately pointless.

I'd like to see Pov fight a champion the first time he's made mando. He should get that in at least once in his career.

At least with him vs Wilder it could be said that Povetkin is trying to play the role of a blocker and stop Wilder before he even gets to AJ. Which is a career first for Povetkin anyway so that's cool.

Wilder won't take it even if it's offered. His next opponent is a guy that failed a test and he was willing to fight him anyway, but when the same thing happened with Povetkin he booked flights back to the US within a few hours.

Personally I thought he could win, but clearly his handlers wanted nothing to do with the fight.

Povetkin will likely face Joshua is the summer if Hearn's plan is to be believed, which it should be as in general he delivers what he says. The Povetkin/Wilder purse bid was for only $7.15 mill, so if it's 50/50 Povetkin can expect maybe $3.6 mill fighting Wilder, Pulev was going to get $5 mill and I'm sure Povetkin will earn more than that as a mandatory, I'd say at least $7-8 mill with a 25% split of the purse.

Just a shame for Wilder that Ortiz is in the way.

Their clean boxing program is an utter joke, and no amount of arse-licking from DiBella will convince me otherwise. When Povetkin's indefinite ban was reduced to just 12 months last year, do you know what the solitary condition was for the ruling to happen?

Pov had to give them $250k. Only in boxing, it's quickly becoming a caricature of its own corruption.

Doubt it.. First he has to beat Ortiz which I think he will.. But if AJ wins they will try to make that fight.. If not hell fight another C level because of pricing himself out against AJ.. Unless Parker somehow wins

Wilder seems like he is over looking Ortiz. Wilder had better focus on Ortiz first. Ortiz has the punch power and body attack that could give him a lot of problems.

So Wilder is looking to take on another fighter who's at the very back end of his career.

Joshua is getting criticism for taking on the only Hall of Fame heavyweight of his era and the biggest fight he could possible make.....

But Wilder fans are happy with an old drug cheat and another old drug cheat.
