Turki earning that HOF spot. Sounds like an incredible concept for the sport. The level of officiating involved.... good for that side of the sport aswell
It´s basically what the Japanese do, but on a world scale. The Japanese boxing scene is absolutely ruthless with their matchmaking and creates diamonds because of it. I can´t remember the division(one of the lower weights, obviously), but if you won the JBC belt then it was basically a guarantee that you would get a world title fight. And majority of them actually became world champions. Imagine if a Brit won the BBBofC belt and was basically a lock for world champion. Quite something. The JBC has a rookie of the year tournament, which I believe gets them ranked with the JBC. Then there is the Class A tournament which is a guaranteed title shot. Imagine if USA had this?
Nothing to do with ratings? As I understand it all regional belts force a rating in the region above it. Never heard of them forcing a world title contest though.
Do you know what you're talking about? What you wrote is pretty vague and maybe you forgot but it does mention ratings though I do not see why you would need to for me to ask if it had anything to do with ratings. "The JBC has a rookie of the year tournament, which I believe gets them ranked with the JBC." Historical context is cute. I'm speaking to historical context as well. ... while asking if ratings were involved. To be clear, I do not know. I didn't ask "do you know" to allude to me knowing better, I don't. I'm just asking the guy who spoke about the JBC if you have more information really. My bad if I was rude.
Wow this has the potential to really turn back the clock to IMO better times, where fighting the best and testing yourself was more important than keeping a 0 as long as possible.
Wtf are you even arguing about? The Japanese have a Rookie of the year tournament. The winner is usually guaranteed a spot withing the top 10 with the JBC. Then there is the class A tournament which pretty much settles a mandatory for the JBC belt. In some of the lower weights, those who win the JBC belt usually end up fighting for a world title eventually, and a lot of them become world champions. What ****ing part of my comment irked you so much that you had to argue over it? And I still don´t get what you are arguing about.
Bro, chill, I asked you a few questions about a topic I don't know much about. That is all that happened. I really don't know why you think we're arguing let alone what we're meant to be arguing about so I can't clarify that can I?
My bad. I perceived your comments as argumentative. Sorry about that. But yea, the Japanese have a great domestic structure that creates a lot of high level competition. And because of this, often those who succeed at the local level are able to find success at the world stage.
