This seems to be what will be looked at between rounds if there is something in question. This is currently only in Japan - but if it works there I am sure it will eventually make its way over here

    1. If a cut was caused by a legal punch.
    2. To determine a knockdown or a slip.
    3. A punch that occurred prior or after a bell.
    4. To determine if an illegal blow was caused accidentally or intentionally.
    5. To determine if a fighter beat a count.

Is this a step forward or a step back?

It's a great idea to see if cuts are caused by headbutts or punches. For determining if there's a long count, It's a terrible idea because many fighters (such as Douglas vs. Tyson) get dropped but jst get up at the refs count of nine to get more rest.

Great idea for determining if a fight ending cut is caused by a headbutt, but would be a major step back if it's used for other purposes.

I kind of like the idea.

And i dont think they would stop the action there Julian Jackson. They can have a seperate person reviewing the video while the fight is going or in between rounds.

dislike...stamina's a key part in boxing and if theyre takin timeouts every second it'll ruin it. I can see for cuts if theyre caused by a butt or a punch but thats it

If they just used it to check for cuts between rounds thats fine. Other than that I don't think it should be used.

I can already imagine this being abused if it isn't confined to the headbutts.
