In October, the WBC appointed interim middleweight champion Sebsatian Zbik the official mandatory challenger and ruled that Zbik must get his long waited shot at the full title by March 2011. With Sergio Martinez’ big win over Paul Williams, Zbik now knows who he will have to face. “The end rather surprised me,” said Zbik. “I was leaning toward Williams. Martinez comes into the ring in incredible condition. He has won every 2nd fight of his career early. In our fight I will have to go through the fire.”

Damn it. Is this guy any good? Seems like a wasted for a 35 year old guy.

No Zbik has stamina for four rounds and cant punch for **** sake. pitty patty amateurish eurobum punches only.
other than that hes not a total bum. solid defense, good speed physically strong and he can wrestle and clinch to avoid a fight once he gassed
of course Maravilla will eat him for breakfast but not within two rounds i guess

He's not very good at all. I would guess about 20 fighters in the division would beat him. I hope he pays him step aside money because Martinez would beat him with ease imo.

It's easy money if it happens in Argentina.

What a waste of a fight, IMO.
But like you said Cuba... It would make a great showcase for him in Argentina.
(I mean, realistically how many chances will he get to defend in his country while still king?)

Zbik sucks and should have lost 2 of his last 3 fights. I'm sure they'll find a way for him not to need to fight Zbik, elevate Martinez to super duper champ or something. Martinez-Zbik would be both a waste of time and a slaughter.

He's average on a good day. No threat whatsoever to beat Martinez, IMO.

I am not sure Zbik could KO a 100 lbs man in 12 rounds , Martinez will finish him whenever he wants to , really .

Forget Zbik, Martinez should unify and then fight Lemieux in about a year's time. That fight would bring in loads of money in MTL.

That's the WBA you're thinking about.

The WBC doesn't have a Super Champ status (thank god).
