This is beyond a joke, how do you earn a ranking, AND a title shot in one after failing a post fight drug test and recieving a suspension?

Arreola was ranked number nine before he was suspended for smoking weed. He was simply reinstated at his former ranking when the three-month suspension was over.

It's the same thing that will likely happen with Povetkin. He's currently rated number one. He'll likely be suspended. And he'll be reinstated at number one and receive a title shot when his suspension is over.

People complaining about Arreola getting reinstated tend to be the same people demanding Povetkin retain his rating after he failed a drug test. (And he likely will.)

Arreola shouldn't be rated in the first place. He's done **** all.

Arreola has definitely benefited from Eric Molina becoming a viable contender and Stiverne remaining a contender.

Arreola lost to the number-two WBC contender (Stiverne) and he has a KO1 win over the current #12 WBC contender (Molina) ... so, given their ratings, his rating is about right at #9.

If Seth Mitchell was still a viable contender, Arreola might even be rated higher.

If Stiverne and Molina had gone the way of Mitchell, and they were no longer rated, Arreola probably wouldn't be rated at all, either.

So your saying the wbc is the american bush league belt that ignores better fighters from around to world and put great faith in a win over a substitute teacher?

How am I saying that? The WBC has a Russian at #1. A Haitian at #2. A Bulgarian at #3. An New Zealander at #4. A Frenchman at #5. A Brit at #6.

Molina is rated higher in Anthony Joshua's IBF ratings than he is in the WBC. And the IBF is based in the U.S., the WBC isn't. The IBF stripped Fury. The IBF gave Charles Martin their belt. The IBF ranks a 40-1 underdog Breazeale #9. The IBF ranks Eric Molina #8 in their top 10 even though he got knocked out in one round by Arreola and in nine rounds by Wilder.

I think it's pretty clear Joshua is holding the Bush league American title.

Arreola shouldn't even be ranked in any top 15 by any sanctioning body, this is the guy who barely got by 300lbs Curtis Harper, drew with Fred Kassi, and should have lost after getting battered by Kaufmann

to top it all off, he got suspended for failing a post fight drug test

Povetkin didn't fail any test, he was found with 1/70 of the accepted limit of a recently banned substance in his system, (not saying it should have been in his system in the first place, but that's a different story)

in the eye's of WADA's own directive concerning meldonium use, he technically did nothing wrong, but morally cast a shadow on his reputation

In the eyes of most of the world, and several U.S. states, smoking weed isn't doing anything wrong, either. :deal

And most people on this board thought Kassi beat Breazeale, too. And Breazeale is fighting for the IBF belt in four days.
