Christ, Sillyman at it again, for a small fee, off course, he will allow it.

If the WBC truly means to block unifications then the community should take advantage of this now and dump the WBC for good. I think if a few big name boxers and journalists launched a campaign they could actually reform the title system.

So is this the WBC's policy for all belts/divisions now? What an absolute joke...

Promoters will always support them so they can buy belts and credibility for their fighters. HBO is really starting to disregard them though and show them as the jokes they are.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sillyman decided to sue HBO for damaging the brand.

I had high hopes for De La Hoya when he created Golden Boy. As a promoter and as a fighter I thought he had the clout to change things, but it turns out that he didn't really give a **** and he was looking for a way to continue making money after retirement.

I still think it's possible if it became a media issue. You take a handful of top fighters dumping their belts publicly and talking about it on twitter and then get the boxing scribes to write incessantly about the need for change and I think you'd see something happen. Not that it will happen, of course, partly for the reason you mentioned above.

    Agreed...
But it gets the fighter attached bargaining for more $ with the networks.
    (I know... What a sham)

Yeah, childish crap. Far better solutions. These actions do deserve wide spread ridicule. Sad that these guys are too immune from suffering the consequences.
