he was a magnificent fighter to watch....no pun intended.

there was rarely a time(?) when he lost a round.

he was an absolute monster in the ring. he was so domminant, agressive, willing, and never, ever boring.

such was his ringcraft and boxing skill which is highly underated by aussie fans, he once boxed his way, on the back foot to a brave win with two busted hands against a super tough mexican that ate every shot that fenech hit him with. he nearly beat fenech with his head. he was that tough. mario martinez. what a brutal fight that was. fenech was down in the 6th. have a look at martinez record. thats a fighter. you cant doubt fenech fought the best out there. the only one he didnt fight...through politics... was antonio esparragoza. such a pity that fight never happened.

but here, check out martinez record. google the fight between him and fenech. fenech ended the fight with a boxing masterclass. not something he was known for. but an excellent boxer he certainly could be.
