This just in from the sanctioning body convention:

"Sulaiman explained that the new weight class would be created above the cruiserweight limit of 200-pounds, but where it would end and where the super heavyweight limit would begin is still very far away from being determined."

My sources tell me they are thinking of calling it the BredeisWeight title.

I think it's a good idea. You can't have Steve Cunningham trying to win a title agasint Big Baby Miller. If he wants to fight him after he wins the title, that's different.

This is Slender4's brilliant plan for boxing weight classes though.

Move middleweight limit up 2 lbs. to 162.
Move SMW up 3 lbs. to 171
Move LHWT up 5 lbs. to 180

    Make Hvywt up to 225.

    Make SHVWT unlimited.

That way the jump from Welter- JMW is 7 lbs.
The jump from JMW to Middle is 8 lbs.
The jump from Middle to SMW is 9 lbs.
The jump from SMW to LHWT is also 9 lbs.

The jump from LHWT to Crusier is 20
the jump from Crusier to Hwyt is 25.

As guys get bigger, so does the jump as it ls less important between guys who weight 130lbs. than to guys who weight 180lbs.

It would make the fights more interesting but at the same time HW and SHW belts would be more diluted in importance

This is long overdo . The HW boxing criteria and standard is far out dated where HW 's on avg are about 240 . The starting point should be about 227/228 and over . This will create an actual relevant weight class bc no one really fight below 220 at HW ,this is common sense .No one really goes near 200 pounds so from that point to 220 where are the fighters at?Waste of class...... People have to understand its not 1940's anymore things have changed drastically .

People are also complaining too many weight classes...are we really incapable of accepting another weight class thats labled HEAVYWEIGHT,im sure our circuits wont fry. It makes sense and again long overdo, just look at the top 100 fighters not to readjust or create this class.

155(jmw)-164(mw)-174(smw)-185(lh)-205(cw)-225(junior heavyweight), and get rid of all the super and junior weight classes below junior-middle.

I don't think you're giving Fury enough credit. Fury's boxing IQ is what allowed him to get the knockout on Cunningham. Fury after getting dropped went to work on Cunningham's body, which wore Cunningham out and allowed Fury to slow down the pace of the fight. He's too old now, but 4-5 years ago Cunningham would embarrass Miller if Miller were foolish enough to show up over 260lbs.

Cunningham 205lbs vs. Natu Visinia 278lbs

    Cunningham 210lbs vs. Fury 254lbs

Sorry Bro. but it was the 50 lbs. that allowed him to get off the campus.

Yeah a world champion cruiser can beat a third-rate Super-heavy, but they make weight classes for a reason. Lomachenko might be able to get a decision over Andrew Hernandez, but put him in with a 19 y/o, flawed David Benavides and he'd get KILLED.

A Super HW is a terrible idea, an appalling idea. But i am not suprised its the WBC who have a habit of annointing a HW chumpian and then letting them fight chumpian after chumpian without any challenges.

It would dilute the HW division, and the talent pool at super HW would be low by virtue of the fact that very few men who are athletes are the required size anyway. Its the opposite end of the midgets weight classes, where its unnatural to be less than 5 foot 4 as a man and therefore the actual number of eligible athletes is shockingly low.

What a stupid idea. Here's a better idea, why not add a new weight division between 175lbs and 200lbs
Adding this division will give the best of 175lbs somewhere else to go safety to put on better fights in better shape. In fact just put CW limit up to 205lbs, LHW 175lbs, new weight 188lbs(There could be some awesome fights that take place there between current CW's and current LHWs)

this might mean you could hold their SHW title and another body's HW title simultaneously?

I never understood why there was a 7lb jump from SMW to LHW and then 25lb to CW. Like, wtf?! There must be so many men at those weights too. Especially amongst fighters between 6'0-6'2.
