How do you finish someone's career in boxing without either putting them in a vegetable state or killing them?

    We know what Kovalev meant.

David Haye is another one who was cheered on this forum prior to the Bellew fight, who happened to make distasteful comments threatening to put an end to Bellews career

Yet there was never any uproar on by the SJW's

He was subsequently fined for his comments, nevertheless as the British board of control, saw his comments as threatening to end Bellew's life

You just need to watch some boxing interviews to prove to yourself that it's not the only alternative. Boxers can be, and freqently are, rude, aggressive, dismissive of their critics and opponents and overstep the preferred corporate line in any way they choose without threatening the lives of their opponents. It's unprofessional, the sort of thing you expect to see in a back streets fight.

It's not SJW's leading this either, it's the standards that professional fighters demand of themselves and their peers. A decent boxer has a base level of respect for anyone that goes in the ring because they understand more than anyone what's at stake.

As for Tyson, well I posted about him above. I loved watching him box, loved the ferocity, the aggression, the excitement generated as he blitzed the division. I was a Tyson fan back then as was pretty much everyone I knew who loved boxing. Early Tyson was a force of nature.

But I hated seeing him lose his discipline and focus. Substituting clownish thuggish behaviour for the mental toughness that had taken him to the top. The revelations about his treatment of women, the idiotic way he carried himself, the hangers on preying off a naive young guy with loads of cash but no guidance.

When I read the comments about Lewis I wasn't offended, they just revealed how low Tyson had sunk. I wanted Lewis, a class act inside and outside the ring, to school him and he did just that. When I think about what he could've been I think of this Cus D'amato quote: “To see a man beaten not by a better opponent, but by himself is a tragedy.”

But sure, the rabid threats and faux gangsta posturing probably helped sell some tickets once the boxing skills were diminished. So for some that's probably all the justification required.

They won't punish him. On the contrary, Mauricio Suliman has just put a tweet out defending him. He said he respects him and that he doesn't believe he would say that. Ignoring the fact that he actually, publicly said it LOL.

I share your sadness at seeing Tyson go off the rails. But that is another matter altogether.

As for Wilder, he's said many times he respects any man that gets into the ring. He even despises those of us who call fighters bums.

I think what you need to understand is that when the bell rings, all respect goes out of the window. The mindset is war and in war, there are casualties.

In that ring there is no civility, it's kill or be killed. There is no time or place for sentiments.

In that interview before the Stiverne fight, Wilder is in War mode. This is what fighters do to psyche themselves up in preparation for the brutal battle ahead. You have to get into that battle hardened mindset. Only fighters and warriors understand this.

But apparently the disciplinary committee will still investigate.

Oh I've misunderstood in that case. I thought these comments were made outside the ring?

They are comments regarding what would happen inside the ring.

Now if Wilder was threatening to body a man outside the ring, then you'd have an argument and we would have grounds for legal proceedings.

Ah, so at that point your argument about the heat of battle is somewhat undermined. They're not comments made under a surge of adrenaline in the wake of blows taken and received, they're part of a marketing strategy aiming to raise Wilder's profile and get him trending. At which point it's surely fair to expect them to conform to a very base level of decency?

Before a fight you are in war mode. You don't suddenly get in that mindset the moment you step in the ring.

In training camp and a few weeks before the fight you are getting into a battle hardened mindset.

This is why many other fighters have come out with similar comments in the build up. Testosterone doesn't just turn on the moment you throw a punch. It's running high at all times.

Wilder has said exactly the same reasons that I have explained in this thread regarding those body comments.

''This is boxing'' ''this is what fighters sign up for''

With pay pal and internet banking ,brides can be transferred in seconds, unfortunately this leads to Suleiman coming across as severely bi-polar

Ah you have no argument so resort to petty insults.

You have no idea about fighting and the mindset that is needed to get in the ring.

Every fighter wishes to kill their opponent in the ring and Kovalev of all people has no feelings or regards for his opponents. None at all

This is why he never shedded a tear after Simakov's death and slept like a baby that same night.

Go and watch something else, this sport isn't for you, you fairy.
