    "We have decided to create a new division called Bridger, as it is the bridge necessary to serve the large number of boxers who are between 200 and 224-pounds. This name is inspired by that hero of humanity, that six-year-old boy who heroically saved his four-year-old sister from an attack by a wild dog during the pandemic; yes, this new division is inspired by Bridger Walker."

    I mean, cool... but "he's the champion at Bridger" sounds awkward AF.

    So silly, just call 200-224lbs. HW, and 225+ SHW. Simple and far more tolerable.

    Utterly **** decision designed to rake in sanctioning fees, but I am still hoping for Povetkin or Hunter to be its first titlist.

    At least they are leaving the cruiser limit at 200 so unification are still possible.

    The creation of the division was divisive enough, but the name shows that the days of Jose giving the boxing world smooth haircuts are gone

    If Mauricio doesn't bring new minds to help him out, the WBC will start losing market share from here on. Jose was the dictator, but he spent most of his time around intelligent people which helped him stay sharp.

    I guess superheavyweight never came thru because they bestow the heavy weight division as the glamour one. It still remains the most prestigious coveted award in all of sports to obtain thee "hw champion of the world."

    In MMA they kinda have a right sense, heavy is 205- 265, super heavy is 265 +. I guess to each their own sport just as long as Brock Lesnar makes weight lol. Albeit it does get rid of all the tub of goo MMA players.

    The only other most important job in the world would be the POTUS, long live the baddest man on the planet, I think having 3 weight classes in a average of 50 pounds difference is good for the sport. I too am hoping Povetkin becomes the first bridge weight champion!
