WBC Names New Weight Division (200-224 Pounds) BRIDGER...

Named after Noel Coward's character in The Italian Job.

 

I brought this up a few days ago: just look at 115,118 and 122. ****ing killers! It´s insanity down there. Now imagine if only 118 excised. It would be the hardest division to win a belt in.

These filler divisions keep diluting the talent pool. And nowadays it´s so popular to move up in weight anyways. And why is that? Because it´s rather easy to squeeze down a weight class.

200lbs has always been weak. 224 will dilute it and the heavyweight division.

 

Typical WBC. Making a laughing stock of themselves again. Everyone can see the only weight missing is between Light Heavy and Cruiser at aroun 190lbs but they do their own thing and remove half of the heavyweigh division.

Does this mean the likes of Usyk and Wilder can never fight for their heavyweigh championship? what a **** up

 

I hate the WBC.

Along with the WBA, they are ruining the sport of boxing.

 

This isn't the first time a weight division has been named after a dog attack victim.

Boxing historians among us will remember Welter Johnson, the 18 year old American college boy who was savaged by a pair of Dobermans while on a trip to Paris in 1881.

And of course, no one will ever forget the sad fate of Feather Duffy, the little 5 year old girl who was eaten alive by a vicious and hungry cross-breed terrier in Boston in 1887.

 

Bridgerweight was the WBCs second choice. The first idea was a division called Caneloweight.

Caneloweight would be whatever Canelo wanted it to be at the time with the added stipulation anyone challenging Canelo for the title must be ten years older than him or have a drinking problem.

Caneloweight was narrowly rejected by the WBC hierarchy who felt it might not give Canelo enough of an advantage.

Another reason why it's a stupid idea is that Bridgerweight pretty much will kill heavyweight if it works. If it becomes a popular and successful division you'll see guys up to 240-50 lb sweat off the weight for the weigh in and make the division. What does that mean? It means heavyweight will consist of Fury, Ustinov, AJ and Ruiz, guys that basically can't make bridgerweight at all. The HW division is already bad, it would become abysmal if boxers decided to vacate en masse to this new class.

 

It might have sounded stupid until you came out with "medium heavyweight".

 

Suleiman has hidden this scam behind the name of a little injured kid? He really is one of the biggest scum bags in this sport. He hopes ppl will keep quiet about the nonsense of it cuz of respect for this kid. He's no better than Osama Bin Laden when he used kids as a human shield.

 

If it was super cruiserweight or even Tigerweight I could have eventually gotten on board with it but I hope bridgerweight crashes and burns
