WBC Night of champions ,anyone been and got any reviews?

Calzaghe turned up on the Saturday. Spent most of the evening in the toilets, doing what - I can only imagine!

I didn't see Pacquiao. I guess he didn't make it.

The organisers were fuming though, they said that they'd paid for flights for some people who just didn't turn up - no phone call / email / anything!

 

Something on that scale your always gonna get let down but some people. Apparently Antuofermo had a flight paid for and never showed.

 

Went to the am Boxing on the friday, met Shannon Briggs and Zab Judah (Judah was a delight by the way), enjoyed it, some good fights and a few fighters amongst the audience.

Very impressed with American fighter Errol Spence, he beat Fred Evans and looked superb. He should become a top pro.

£250 to much for me.

 

Spence was definitely something special. A real one to look out for in the future, and a well-deserved win against Fred Evans.

 

Was George Chuvalo there?

 

Yes, Chuvalo was there and yes I can vouch for Errol Spence. I think he'll be suited to the pros nicely.

 

Vitali Klitschko and Sergio Martinez were WBC fighters of the year.

 

Was Rocchigiani there?

 

Was Matthew Hatton there?

Rendall Monroe and Toshiaki Nishioka were both there at the dinner and the upcoming fight was announced.

 

Hey Al, how was your dad recieved? did he get a lot of attention?

 

He was received well, specially by the older fans and British fighters who were either young fighters or young kids watching him when he was in his prime. Had a good chat with the Mexican bantams, Herrera, Zarate and Zamora. Dad and Herrera shared a few common opponents. He enjoyed the film which he could relate to, him and Howard were good mates.
