That's my overall opinion about fighters now a days. They wait around fighting weak competition in hopes of snagging a pay day with the champ. I think Canelo certainly picks and chooses his opposition, I think it has more to do with business than being scared. Canelo's resume is rather stacked, Benavidez hasn't really beat anyone of note. To be honest he looks basic to me. GGG and Bivol are much better fighters than Benavidez. Let's just say Benavidez wins, is he going to go out there and challenge other top fighters? Is he going to fight Beterbiev or Bivol? I don't think so. I'm only interested to see the fight because there is a chance for a brawl, but it's rather low on my list to be honest.

I think once Benavidez feels Canelo's lefthook counters in tye first couple of rounds he may try to use his reach advantage and fight more tentatively, similar to Kovalev and to a degree what Smith tried to do.

The main question mark for me is that I don't think Canelo has been at his best lately, but I presume he'll manage to get up for this one - he definitely doesn't want to lose to Benavidez.

I think Big Red will drop David late or either his corner will call the fight off to save David/

I still think this is a more interesting fight than Plant, BJS, Danny J or any Charlo

And who cares about Wilder and AJ, two overrated fighters, which I am of fan of but I call it how it is.

Canelo has proven to be the best at 168, and now Benavidez has to prove it by fighting Canelo, but if he takes a fight in between and loses, than it proves he isn't the best, same for Canelo, if he loses to someone at SMW then it proves he isn't the best SMW anymore.

So what's the problem buddy?

It worked well for the fighters ( pay days) but not for the fans.
