Didn't see Linares debut fight at 140, but I know he got the Ko. I think it's a good fight but I favoor Broner slightly, in a subperb technical start that somehow breaks into a fire fight! It's very likely Linares gets stopped late.
This is a great , great fight that I was wishing and praying would happen (but never believed it would). I'm a big Linares fan. I think the man has elite skills, world-class speed and is at the point of his career where he is really hungry to leave a legacy and cash-out. He has obvious falls of cutting and losing focus in the middle rounds. Broner is a physically strong, punches hard and is NOT a punk or sissy. He's as tough as he is polarizing to be honest. His greatest fault was being being a mental sheep and never being his own man. He wanted to be Floyd Mayweater, even adopting his style as a boxer....but that style was totally detrimental to his talents. Great crossroads fight if it happens. Both men are completely vulnerable to the other.
Linares will out box him.. He's a terrible style match up for him. I bet u you'll be shocked at how convincing it is. Don't cite me stoppages, Linares will UD Broner. Doubt it happens tho..
Cool fight. Linares is the better fighter in my mind, no doubt, but Broner has got legit power at this weight. His work rate isn't ever going to change but then neither is Linares' defence which can be suspect at times. I'll take Linares for the moment, simply because any faith I used to have in Broner is long gone now
WBC is ordering away the last week. I just ordered a tomato soup, but I probably have to make it myself.
