It's Lara's true call: MMA. And I can see him having some success there tbh I mean, just look at his guillotine choke, it's top notch :deal This content is protected This content is protected
Bull****!!! Lara ran like a girl. Every time Vanes got to him he applied the strangleholds & low blows. The headbutt that ended the fight was DELIBERATE!! Any one could see that. Lara should have had a point deducted for the strangleholds & DQ'd for the butt. I was 50/50 before the fight but after seeing that I hope Martirosyan kicks his ass in a rematch
Yes I agree. Rather see these kind of fights than "bum fights" as I go for skill just my preference. As far as chess matches they can be high-paced too. Barrera-Morales trilogy, Barrera-Marquez, Mccallum-Toney 1 for instance. Had TONS of skill all of them. Back to Lara-Vanes, he did look a bit off and may be he was hurt but that's usually a cover up for trainers/fighters to say. 6th and on he was taking him to school and I'll continue to support him.
If Lara had a reputation of being aggressive maybe they had a point but come on. we all know Lara only has a left hand and doesnt press period unless he is in there with a complete no hoper. Obviously Vanes has skill and power as he hurt Lara on various occasions. The only reason Lara was catching Vanes towards the end is because Vanes was backing up in straight lines instead of to the side like he did in the beginning of the fight.
Yeah he does fight slow but to me he fought slower than norm. Not using it as an excuse he should've press the action earlier. Vanes should've pressed more too so it was on both of them. Anticipate rematch and curious if they'll start the exact same way. Hope not.
Well, you knew the WBC would find some way to make the winner go through extra hoops, at least now it is for a legitimate reason. Hopefully next time out Vanes can land something and take Lara out.
Ever since the Brewer fight, Lara has looked capable of becoming an elite level fighter. Ever since the Ouma fight, Vanes has looked pretty ordinary. In my opinion Lara is the better fighter of the two. I think Sheilds' story about the hand has at least some basis in reality. I'm not bothered by the rematch. A title eliminator ended in controversy. Staging a rematch is the right thing to do.
