They do it to trick the casuals because for all of us that know boxing, this is some crystal clear bull****. ****ing WBC and it's idiotic decisions.

 

Why does it matter even a little bit? They're fighting anyway. If Lopez loses, he'll drop. If he wins, he'll be the titlist. WBC rankings don't mean crap except in terms of getting into a mandatory position.

 

Canelo doesn't need this protection?

well, I think Canelo has been protected in many ways, an undefeated boxer has more value....

 

Canelo should take not from his fellow Jalisco native, and also undefeated Abner Mares, who's about to take on a very very dangerous opponent in Anselmo Moreno.

i dont mind lopez - canelo, lopez pissed on the gentlemans agreement of ortiz-canelo so it has some form of tourneyment and a interesting fight.

hilarious! nothing surprises me with WBC when it comes to Canelo anymore......at least Lopez was top 10 at WW they gave him his belt vs Matt Hatton who wasn't even top 10 in the division below!

Next Canelo should consider fighting Jan Zaveck at 160 and the WBC might give him a vacant MW title.

 

The Ortiz fight was bad enough....he did nothing to deserve a title shot..especially at 154...

There is NO excuse fighting Lopez and you know.
