Maybe Ruiz will come in at 400lbs! He’d still lose but it would be funny to see. Not fun to watch because he’s the fattest boxer I’ve ever seen.

Or is he getting out of those fights to take the easier Ruiz fight. Only fight besides AJ and Fury that should be sellable on PPV. If they take another loss on PPV they will sell Wilder to AJ

So does this mean that Wilder technically isn’t allowed to fight someone outside the Top 15 (since they wouldn’t be “eligible”)? Or could he fight them but it wouldn’t be considered an official defense of the WBC belt? I’m just curious how this works.

 

Correct. First the WBC has to declare a fighter to be inside their official top 15 ranking, then Wilder can elect them for a voluntary defense.

That's how e.g. ultra shot and very old Arreola magically got listed inside the top 15 out of nowhere. Wilder's team petitioned the WBC to rank him so he can fight him as there was interest from the network in this fight.

 

How about if the Fury rematch doesn't happen he gets his #1 contender out of the way already. If Whyte is the easy touch that Wilder's fans claim, then just get it over with and end the noise.

 

If it happens it will be Wilder by KO.

Do you think he deserves it after the 2nd fight? id have been all for it before the 2nd fight but purely on the basis of how we now know he approached the 2nd fight, I have no interest to see it

Ruiz and Wilder were said to fight for a unification bout had Ruiz beat AJ. Ruiz ain't got the belts but I'd love to see this fight.
