This is probably why PBC made this fight & ended up nixing the Benavidez/Uzgatecui fight, this way at least one of their guys will potentially get a shot at Canelo's title & with this comes the Network showcase along with the large purse opportunity, win win for them,

Or else i would've have expected PBC to continue milking out instead of actually matching their top fighters in Plant/Benavidez even though that fight itself is now 3 years late.

Mandatory for Canelo means nothing, quite frankly. Canelo is high enough on the food chain that he can do whatever he wants without much drawback and he's proven that each and every time thus far he's been potentially paired up with Benevidez as his next opponent.

 

I’m looking forward to Benavidez winning and then seeing all Canelos clowns excuses as to why he shouldn’t have to fight his mandatory, or why it’s ok for him to drop the belt.

 

I see Benavidez winning this. Canelo will be stuck defending belt against Benavidez or rematch Bivol. His best option is Benavides. He is not beating Bivol. He could very well land that left and sleep Benavidez.

 

Benavidez better stop Plant and than stop Canelo, if he wants to challenge two top guys at 175
