WBC says that winner of Fury-Wilder III must fight Whyte.

Best thing all round would be for Fury Joshua next up for all the belts. Winner then drops them except for the WBA.

Wilder Whyte fight for the vacant WBC.

Usyk xxx for WBO and Pulev xxx for IBF.

Fury Joshua 2 winner can go back and try to reclaim.


Problem is however that stadium fight for Fury Joshua is likely not possible for a long time yet.

 

Whytes a shot, bum cry baby who cares. I think he gets stopped by the next good opponent he faces, he's literally going backwards

 

Whyte deserves his shot. But he will lose when he gets his title shot. The wbc should have got this one out the way already.

I saw this coming from a mile away when Whyte took legal action against the WBC. No way the WBC would let this go to court, as they were very clearly in the wrong here and definitely didn't want another Rocchigiani situation on their hands.

 

If there is a "Franchise champion" then the "regular" WBC belt becomes redundant. There is NO room for two World Championship belts per organisation, and if anybody promotes such a concept then they are nothing but a puppet. We already know that fragmentation is negative and it only leads to continuous uncertainty as to who is the best.

If the WBC go down this road, and fans buy into the "regular' belt, then we will soon have 8 (!) World Championship belts floating around stemming from the 4 governing bodies.

As it stands, and this is bad enough, we have the WBA (super), WBC, WBO and IBF.

I refuse to count the WBA (regular) as a legitimate World Championship belt, for obvious reasons.

If Dillian Whyte wins the WBC title, when there is essentially a new name for the WBC World Championship belt, then he really hasn't achieved his goal of winning a world title. It would be interesting to see if he will cling on to that, though. After all, he did refer to Lucas Browne and Alexander Povetkin as "World Champions".

 

I don't think it's that bad for Fury to face Whyte before Doshua, probably no less ppv given Dosh's shopping tips.

 

As fans it would be nice to have all the belts plus Ring and Lineal united, even just once, even just briefly. In reality, although promoters may say they want this, they don't. It suits them to have this endless confusion, endless argument, endless potential for title fights, unifications etc.

On the positive side, since AJ beat Ruiz and Fury destroyed Wilder there's not really any more question marks in the division. The man is one of those two, they need to fight each other and whether they hold every belt at that time or not isn't such a big deal. The winner of that clash or series of clashes is the man for this generation. So the lawyers and alphabet organisations can do as they please. I wouldn't care if Fury and AJ staged a press conference and they collectively chucked them all in the bin as long as they fought each other afterwards.

Sorry but I just wanted to get this off my chest first...

It's bad enough that we have God knows how many organisations but to then have a super champion, regular champion, interim champion and gold champion all within the SAME ORGANISATION is an ABSOLUTE JOKE.

The best solution would be for Whyte to fight the winner of Fury vs Joshua but as that is a two fight deal, it means that Whyte would have to wait a long time for his fight to happen and he would have take other fights in the meantime and win all of them and he isn't going to go for that.

I worry that it's going to take much longer than people expect for Fury vs Joshua to happen... If it happens at all.

 

Im almost convinced AJ-Fury will not be for undisputed and if it is we will be waiting possibly another 2 years. Usyk or Whyte could easily throw a spanner in the works. If either of them beat Fury or AJ we are looking at rematches and possibly trilogies there

 

If AJ vs Fury happened tomorrow it wouldn't be for the undisputed title, it would be for the unified title.
