It's not just Floyd, but he was one of the worst when it came to mandatories.
The WBC welter, the WBC light middle, the WBC middle, the WBC light heavy and the WBC Cruiser haven't been defended against the mandatory for ages now, and the WBC heavyweight and super middleweight are making good pace too. 4 have since changed hands, but mandatory defences haven't happened yet. it's such a scam!

It´s absolutely bonkers. At 160, if you include Golovkins interim cash crab title, thats 11 ****ing fights.

I know that history has seen numerous title runs with few mandatories but still... 4 years is a long ass time.

And actually that MW fight wasn't the real mandatory either but the WBC beltholder vs the champion in recess.
As far as I know the last real mandatory defence was back in 2010.

 

That whole fight was an epic cluster****. The corruption was unbelievable.

I think it was Gary Shaw who got HBO to owe him a fight for Serhiy Dzinziruk.
Now, Sebastian Zbik was the WBC mandatory but HBO turned him down.
Martinez looses his title and has to fight Dzinziruk.
Next thing we know, Chavez Jr is fighting Zbik on HBO.
And there were a lot of other strange things happening.

151v other WITH clothes on, 149 for both fights at jmw. One of the greatest ever can still easily beat everyone around his weight except ONE fighter in Spence.

Fmj v Spence is a pickem fight but I'd bet everything on Spence. Fmj don't come out and fight the current best and most dangerous fighter in Spence when you're clearly way past it.
