    Over at the scene

The WBC had a voting procedure and a majority voted Ward-Dirrell to be the fight where there title was on the line rather then Froch-Abraham.

Froch-Abraham will be a ''Final Elimination'' Bout.....

    Thoughts???

aha....i just made the exact same thread...
like i say in mine...i was shocked as well...BUT

if froch vs AA had come off, it would be 2 fighters coming off losses fighting for the title...and apparently dirrell was no.1?

Hopefully it'll give more incentive for Ward & Dirrell to fight each other.

Yeah i hear ya mate, I'm gutted for Frochy...wanted to see him lift title again. He's gonna have to go through a war to get to his old title again. Froch never has it easy

I guess they didn't want their vacant title to be contested by 2 fighters coming off loses.

    Very very silly move IMO!

Should have made Froch AA for the title. That way the final would have been a unification bout.

Yeah shame....but i suppose not best of looks. I suppose most of us including Frochy was just hoping for a kind touch. Oh well...Froch-Abraham is type of fight you don't need title on line. It's got that gladiatorial value to it. Two primed warriors going at it for the love of the sport and fans.

I dunno mate, they probably just went with what they thought was the "better" fight, they won't look at it as their job to make the Super 6 final more attractive as a unification fight.

Hopefully they'll let Froch and AA fight for the more pretigious WBC Super Middle Weight minus 1lb Gold, Silver, Bronze Plantinum and Moleskin Belt Buckle. That's the real title these days.

I am suprised but, I suppose, it makes some kind of sense. I think that, as long as the Andres do actually get it on, this belt will be back in European hands next year anyway.

Stupid decision and very unlike the WBC to be jumping at the chance to unify with the WBA.

To me it makes absolutely no sence at all!!!

it was going to get unified at some poin anyway so but i get what your saying

it just makes more sense to have froch-aa and have a unification in the final

    Exactly.

I smell a rat here as the WBC would make more out of sactioning fee's the second way I am sure.

But it's going to be unified in the very next fight. The least they could have done was make it more appealing for the fans. I could think of worse fights that have been sanctioned for a belt than Froch AA.

Not good this will be the break up of the tournament i swear. This way ward/dirrel can walk away linear champ. There would be nothing to gain and all to lose fromfighting Froch/Abraham in the final
