So what happens when Dirrel wins? We all know the 2 Andres wont be fighting each other.

EDIT: Read that as Andre Dirrell, would Anthony and Ward fight?

I'm not surprised by anything the WBC do anymore. They prob want the belt gone off ward so when chavez moves up in weight he doesn't have to face ward for it. Smart move actually

The real thing is that they need to turn that belt over to earn some corn...ward having 5-8 months off does not help them, surely though they should force a mandatory on him, and if he fails to defend declare it vacant... At least then they're not making mugs of fans and a farce of boxing. Champ in recess my arse

:-( 33 years old, 30% KO ratio, and only 8 of his 24 opponents have even had winning records. Might as well just have a presentation ceremony for Anthony.

  6. That's basically it.

Ward is at the level where he can make money without the title, in fact he'd make more because he wouldn't have to give up 3% or whatever it is to the org.

That's the opposite of many fighters, who are happy to give up a % in return for a much higher ''gross'' than they'd get for the level they're at.

It's laughable when you can say that someone is a world champion and they're crap, like you can in boxing, or that someone is ''above being world champion now''.

Obviously some champions are better than others, but you've never seen a crap sprinter win the 100m in the world championships, have you? Kim Collins was probably the weakest champion I can recall, and he was ****ing good.

His 2nd fight was at CW, perhaps they could use that as a selling point?

Ward refused to allow Bute to fight in his tournament. Ward said he would fight Bute after the tournament, but backed out, he lied..........Ward will not fight his mandatory. Showtime will boycott Bute Vs. Froch, but EPIX will show it which makes Ward very angry. Ward was the only boxer who did not have to travel. Ward is spoiled, he gets every thing his own way.................

  15. At least he's got the WBA title still. They wouldn't mess around like the WBC and belittle the title of world champion.

Hopefully Dirrell will win and fight the winner of Magee and Balzay. Then the winner of that fight could face Ward for the WBC title, the WBC title in recess, the interim WBA title, the regular WBA title and the super WBA supermiddleweight championship of the world.
