Fact is the bum Charlie hasn’t fought since 2021 and should have been stripped after a year of inactivity with no good excuse. As a champion you fight your mandatories. Case closed. Hope it’s the last we hear of him.

Both Charlo clowns should have been stripped ages ago.

    Exactly.

Not fighting at all is most definitely holding a belt hostage.
Even moreso than choosing to fight third and fourth rate fighters whilst the top tier guys are begging you to man up - as consecutive WBC champs have in another division ;)

Lack of competition is bad for a division - where's the motivation for decent fighters to enter a division when many fighters are unknowns and the beltholders are unavailable?

The belts should be fighting the unknowns with rankings and uncovering whether there's any hidden gems there or not.
Not sitting inactive or fighting known bums.

Finally. It just took them 2 years to realize the obvious.

WBC is a joke, corrupt and absurd.

Just curious…what are your all’s opinions on why the middleweight division is so weak right now? Historically, middleweight has been one of the best divisions in boxing. However, it feels like a wasteland at this point, and this didn’t just happen overnight; it’s been bad for years now. I feel like it really started going downhill once GGG got past his prime and Canelo moved up to 168 (and occasionally 175). However, I assumed that the weakness in the division would be very temporary, as new, young prospects would enter the division and become stars. It’s not like these guys are choosing to play pro basketball or football instead, as you often hear in regards to the decline in talent at heavyweight (this mainly applies to American heavyweights). I will admit that I haven’t kept up with many middleweight prospects recently (over the last six months or so), as I’ve been busy with some other stuff going on in my life and just haven’t had as much time to devote to boxing fandom. Are there any exciting middleweight prospects on their way up right now that I should be aware of?
