WBC threat to strip belt from Alexander for wanting Bradley fight

Why don't we just stop recognizing these organizations exist? They are killing boxing from the inside and the only reason they have any power is that we recognize the fights that hold their belts as champions. Seriously, why don't we just stop recognizing they exist whatsoever and have the Ring champ as the official one

 

"I read today in the papers that you want to fight Timothy Bradley for the WBO championship. I appreciate the information and I kindly ask you to immediately present the resignation to the WBC championship, as it seems that our organization is not up to your stature as a boxer. The WBC green and gold belt has been the dream of many boxers in the world, but apparently it is not yours. I will be waiting for your resignation and may you have good luck in your fight."


What the hell is wrong with this guy? How can you treat your champions like this? All the guy did was say that he wanted to fight Bradley and then Sillyman responds with this smart ass letter.

It'd be shocking if it were coming from anyone else, but Sillyman's in about the same mental state as Caligula when he appointed a horse to the senate. There could be a megathread here about all the stupid, crazy, or corrupt decisions that jackass has done to **** up boxing. And yet, he just keeps right on doing it with nobody to put him in his place. It's people like that that make me see how much we need a central governing body to guide things- and hope to God whoever's in that isn't as dirty and corrupt as the people in power now.

Alexander and Bradley don't need the WBC, the WBC needs them.

 

He needs top just drop it. **** the belt. But this shouldn't even be an issue, as Bradley has stated he wants to build the fight up to larger proportions right now. Neither guy has much of a following, and I doubt a fight between them would sell well in terms of PPV buys. So it's take small HBO money now, or wait a year, see how it goes.

Thats what I thought. Sounds like some school girl bull**** drama. One girl is mad at her friend for hangin out with some other girl and she makes a deal deal out of it like her friend doesnt like her anymore.atsch

 

Alexander already won his belt. He already got himself known with boxing fans. Now he just need to fight big names and won't need no fakking belt to prove himself and fans will love him.

 

They should take out Khan and Madiana then maybe they could fight some older names that they can beat like Hatton and JMM then they could get it on a year from now.

 

Not a bad idea. I'd favor both youngsters over those 4 guys.
