WBC to allow Mayweather to defend both WW and JMW titles against Maidana

    It's not that they're "letting" Mayweather do this they are enforcing it. If you have two titles with them you cannot defend the lower one by itself apparently. This means you have to pay sanctioning fees for both so they make more money.

    so they are enforcing it by breaking their own rule and letting him defend the 154 pound title against someone not ranked at 154?

    Actually, WBC rules state that you cannot hold WBC titles in different divisions simultaneously.

    They're breaking their rules by allowing Mayweather to hold WBC belts at both WW and JMW. However, Maidana would be able to fight for a WBC belt at JMW even without being ranked there as he is a former champion.

    I'm not too bothered tbh, Floyd has both belts so let both be on the line. Most people agree Floyd is the best in both divisions anyways.

    I'm much more bothered about the MW situation getting sorted out.
