After the draw last weekend, WBC interim champion Gvozdyk is still waiting for his shot.
He was supposed to face the winner of the contest directly after (loophole, there was no winner)

Sulaiman says Stevenson has to face his mandatory next (first in 5 years!), after already getting another exception facing Jack, unless... They really want the rematch and put in a request, the WBC will certainly consider that!

So long story short, Gvozdyk probably gets screwed over again.

This time I wouldn't call it "screwed" — he just got unlucky because of the draw. Buy yes, the only chance for Gvozdyk to actually fight for the real title is if Stevenson's and Jack's camp will not agree on some terms about the rematch. It could be over money, or it could be the location, for example.

P.S. Or if Stevenson miraculously retires :)

Using the draw as a loophole is more as just being unlucky, that's getting screwed over a detail.
The Jack fight was already an exception and this looks like it's going the way it always goes with the WBC, exception on exception, towards never happening.

If the draw is fair (and it most probably was in that fight) it's not getting screwed but just the right logical decision. The WBC ****ed up when they allowed Stevenson to fight Jack in the first place, yes, but it's a thing of the past now. So I repeat: Gvozdyk wasn't screwed once again. This time he just got unlucky.

That draw made WBC scratch their heads big time, Fonfara III to the rescue.

Actually, yes, the WBC now better think about the second draw possibility, LOL. Because Badraw Jack has 'em a couple on his resume. :)

Baldraw Jack vs Gvozdyk as a final eliminator, meanwhile Stevenson gets to defend against a Polish cab driver in his 2019 fight whilst that fight takes place? Then in 2020 we may get Stevenson against Gvozdyk?

Sulaiman said WBC would consider Stevenson-Jack rematch request and delay Gvozdyk mandatory.

Well, some interesting information concerning the situation. :) I've just read that Bob Arum said he's trying to push the fight with Gvozdyk. And ... (here goes the most interesting part)... Arum is planning to have this fight in... (drum roll)... Kiev, Ukraine. :)
At first it must sound crazy, :) I know, but it's not that crazy at all. The WBC president Mauricio Sulaimán was in Kiev on May 17 (maybe even now he's still in Ukraine, I'm not sure) discussing with Vitali Klitschko (https://www.boxingnews24.com/2018/05/wbc-may-17-2018-the-12th-round) the next WBC Convention, which, as they confirmed yesterday, will be held in Kiev.

And now let's think about it once again: Sulaimán and Klitschko discussing business, they were like maybe drinking together in the evening in a restaurant or something... Vitali Klitschko knows Gvozdyk very well, and he might well try to influence Sulaimán, if needed, lol... :)

I would have Stevenson v Gvozdyk with the winner facing Jack within 6 months, no interim fights allowed.

Alvarez has been stepping aside for ages. He will wait. And Stevenson v Gvozdyk with the winner facing Jack is how I would prefer to see the situation. One cannot ever be sure about WBC decisions. Corrupt people.
