"Russian and Belarusian boxers will be removed from the WBC rankings and won't be eligible to fight for any of the organization's titles because of Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman announced during the sanctioning body's convention in Acapulco, Mexico."

I think this is BS. I doubt Putin asked any boxer for their permission to invade Ukraine.

I don't agree with this order either, and I'm pro Ukraine. Lots of these guys work and live in the US anyway.
Is Bivol going to be considered "Russian"? Parents are Moldavian father, Korean mother born in Tajikistan in the last year of the USSR,
    never was a Russian citizen.

It doesn't really change a thing, as WBC has very few Russians on the top of their rankings.
I'm sure they are gonna pretend that Makhmudov and Beterbiev are Canadian.
Just like David Avanesyan suddenly turned into Armenian after the Putin's dogs' invasion.

Nonsense. Boxing is a war. Any fighter knows he could die in the ring.

You sure about that? I hear he’s been living in Russia since he was a child an was the Russian champion as an amateur?

What I posted about his family is correct. He is not an ethnic Russian. Possibly a Russian citizen, but I really don't know.

    BS

Boxer is not responsible for something that they don't have control of.

If same rules apply to everyone, than US fighters should be ban for many decades.

    He did get Russian citizenship.

But, you know, it's the WBC. The real rules don't get followed, the random **** Mauricio says are mostly diversions.

Beterbiev has already been representing Canada for a while so thankfully he'll be ok, not sure about Bivol though.

What the hell are you talking about? Bivol proudly hails from Indio, California!
