I'm surprised the WBC dosent just give out 4 more interim championship belts but instead they tokk Andre's title and give him a mandatory shot at whoever is WBC champ.

He's made once defence of that title in 15 months, has had surgery and won't be fighting any time soon. The WBC are within their right to strip him.

No complaints with the WBC on this one. Ward has had only the one optionsl defense since December 2011, has NEVER made a mandatory defense, had seemed to only be looking at Froch or Kessler, with no apparent desire to fight his mandatory, and has no timetable for his return. Of all things for which to blame the alphabets, this is not one of them.

Exactly what I was thinking. The WBC will serve up their 168lb title to Baby Chavez on a silver platter.

Really hope Chavez is moving up. Won't take a Martinez calibre ''bigger man'' to defeat him at 168. And even if Ward is emeritus champ we all know he's the only REAL champ at 168.
