Whoever wins tomorrow will have thirty days to reach an agreement with Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 knockouts), champion for Wba, Ibf, Wbo, WBC unification. In the event that the agreement is not reached, the champion of the Wbc belt will have to face the interim champion thats to say one among Whyte and Wallin.

Seems boxing federations dont wanna waste time: all them want one only world champion within a short time.

    Right decision or not?

How does Whytes rematch v Wallin factor into this?

Better hope Whyte wins I guess. We all know Wallin isn’t getting a rematch if he loses lol.

It doesnt affect anything as long as a deal is done within 30 days

Usyk is bound by a rematch clause with AJ. Whatever agreement would be tentative/provisional until after that fight.

Source for this? The WBC can't make their fighter fight the other organisations' champions. This is why it's been almost impossible for AJ to get Wilder in the ring

My reading is they're allowing the winner 30 days to make a fight with Usyk or else they order the mandatory. They're not actually ordering an unification bout, they don't have the power to do that

This is as a favor to Whyte, who they assume will beat Wallin.

Another odd thing here that came to my mind is that Wallin is not even ranked by the WBC, yet he is allowed to fight for the interim WBC HW title, which could be considered an eliminator to face the winner Wilder-Fury. Interestingly then, out of the blue, we might have a Fury-Wallin rematch for the Ring/Linear/WBC championship. Imagine Wallin - Usyk for the undisputed title should this play out the way it could.

There's no need for them to do a 180 because they're not actually ordering a unification bout. They lack that power. What they are doing, simply, is giving the winning fighter some leeway to organise a unification bout should they choose before they order their mandatory defence
