That means the fight would be in mid 2016.
So the winner would probably fight Klitschko in late 2016. :patsch
I imagine that Klitschko will fight Fury and one or two lesser opponents before.

So you think they are gonna push to make Wlad-Wilder first?

Mid 2016?? He should be required under WBC regulations to be this year. A WBC champ is supposed to make 1 mandatory defense a year, and 3 fights in a year.

There's no reason for the purse bid to be 4 months from now, Wilder fought tonight, and Povetkin's side should be ready also to make a deal....get it done!

So Wilder gets two more voluntary defences. I'd say Tarver-USS and Price-Teper.

  6. Nah, even Al knows his fights have to man up at some point. He only give them the teet until they are able to put asses in seat and then he takes off the training wheels.

Wait, they're going to order the purse bid in October? Or they're ordering it now and the purse bid is happening in October?

This will clear the way for Wilder to fight Holyfield, Ruddock, or Bowe.

It should have been ordered in July/August at the latest.

I am just waiting to see how they will try and wriggle out of a Povetkin fight.

Go to the WBC website and read the mid-year report.

The WBC will order free negotiations sometime in October (this October, not next October).

Per WBC bylaws, that period for negotiations lasts 30 days and can be extended if the parties feel a deal can be worked out (as has happened in many cases).

If no deal is reached, then purse bids are ordered. So that would be sometime in November at the earliest.

If purse bids are ordered, that period is 15 days (and can also be extended).

That probably takes us into December.

After purse bids, the fight must take place within 90 days.

So most likely it will be March 2016 at the earliest for Wilder-Povtekin.

Also, Povetkin's promoter said last month (right after Povetkin-Perez) that (a) their camp would be willing to have the fight in the U.S. and (b) Wilder might not be Povetkin's next fight ... which could mean a lot of things, including that they are interested in pursuing Wlad or even Chagaev for the WBA strap ... or just that they may want a tune-up first.

So I'm guessing Wilder makes two more defenses and Povetkin schedules a late-2015 tuneup and they fight in the spring next year, probably around April.

Showtime said that Wilder has to fight Povetkin this fall, possibly September.....................Povetkin is Wilder's mandatory. Vlad would love to fight Wilder ASAP.....................Arreola knocked Molina out in the first round................

Thanks. Or this means that after Wlad beats Fury in September/October (?). Wilder and Wlad can make a deal. It's interesting that the negotiations are in October since that is when Wlad will be fighting. I think Wilder vs. Wlad is in the works. If that happens than I can see a final fight with Glazkov happening.

    Hopefully Wlad keeps fighting though.
