Might as well be Arreola. Maybe less of a risk than Szpilka but more interesting for the fans and a bigger payday.

Arreola himself has said he's not ready (and he isn't) but.....these guys have the same manager. Arreola KOed Molina in 1 so CA could use that in his trash talk.

I'd like to think Wilder could beat the majority of the guys on that list. Still, I'm not even confident he beats Browne. Funny because before Wilder's last 2 fights I wouldn't have doubted that Wilder had the ability to KO Browne via culmative damage, but now I'm not so sure. Yes, probably he gets the TKO, but maybe Browne gets to him first.

Well Wilder drew very poor rating this wkend. Numbers were down for both HBO and Showtime. So if he takes another voluntary before facing Povetkin, I would suspect they would take Arreola. Proven draw, built in Latino fan base and has looked very washed up lately.

That would be hilarious. Wilder already beat Stiverne who beat Arreola twice. The fight makes zero sense for boxing fans, but yes your reasoning is logical from a business point of view.

    1. Alexander Povetkin- mandatory won't be next
    2. Anthony Joshua- wilder won't choose this next
    3. Vyacheslav Glazkov- won't turn down Wlad mando
    4. Bermane Stiverne- already lost hasn't fought since
    5. Bryant Jennings-HBO has him not returning til Nov
    6. Lucas Browne- Can't see Wilder taking this
    7. Eric Molina- just occurred
    8. Andy Ruiz- Maybe
    9. Artur Szpilka- Haymon signed good probability
    10. Carlos Takem- Maybe
    11. Tony Thompson- Maybe
    12. Chris Arreola- Haymon good probability
    13. Johann Duhaupas- maybe
    14. Mike Perez- coming of 91 second loss -no
    15. Kyotaro Fujimoto- fighting Joe Parker

Way I see it the pool out of this lot for a voluntary defense is: Szpilka, Arreola, Thompson, Ruiz, Duhaupas and Takem. In order on probability imo

I was going to come on here and make a joke that maybe he'd fight Bronco Billy Wright, then I saw Wright is ranked 17th by the WBC...is it out of the realm of possibility that Wright would get inside 15 with the Perez and Molina losses? Imagine if Wilder took that fight. With that though, Wright is better then about 90 percent of his current resume...

    I hope I'm joking.

Looking farther down the rankings - Briggs is ranked 20th by the WBC, and he's clamoring for a shot at Wilder. If anyone ever had a punchers chance it's him.

Cunningham is ranked 21st, maybe they wait for him if he gets by Tarver?

I joke a lot on here but Wilder fighting any of the above names except Wright (I'll be honest, even I can't see team Wilder picking on a 51 year old) seems like a totally legit possibility for his next fight.

It's not out of the realm of possibility which is the scary thing.
