Canelo is the golden goose for Oscar and WBC. GGG's only way is to drain himself and fight Canelo. If he beats him, he becomes a PPV attraction. This is what matters. The belts are irrelevant.

K2 should try to negotiate with GBP a more suitable catchweight for GGG like 157-158 lbs.

Not sure if Canelo budges, it seems like after he got bit once by Floyd he's really bothered about the weight.

Cmon, Alvarez - Hatton was signed at 150 and a while later the WBC went: "Oh hey, our 154 belt is vacant, you want it?"
Same exact **** happened with Manny and Margarito.

    WBC is a disgrace.
    WBO is a disgrace.
    IBF is a disgrace.
    WBA is a disgrace.

The RING is a ****ing joke.

By far. I always felt that Cotto would be easier for Golovkin to make a fight with than Alvarez.

He knows that this is his biggest advantage over his opponents. Canelo is a full fledged middleweight, but he's fighting @ 154. If he would fight @ 160, he would have NO size/weight advantage over his opponents and he would be more vulnerable. It's interesting how he's still able to make 155 lbs without damaging his body.

Cotto has been at 154 or above longer than Alvarez and routinely comes into the ring at 165+ the most Alvaraz has been on fight night is 170/71 which is the same as almost all JMWs & MWs.

And the irony is, Cotto is the one who earned to be a diva. He's been in many wars and fought literally everyone until winning the MW title.

Cotto is a man of buisness. He fought Margarito, he fought Pacquiao, he fought Mayweather, and he even fought Martinez.
I am certain he would have stepped up, at a CW tho.

Exactly. Alvarez always has appeared to me to feel like he is entitled. He was initially acting like he was the draw in the Mayweather fight negotiations and later was trying to get Mayweather and Pac to come off of their fight date. When Cotto was asked about fighting Golovkin, he said "No problem." and I believe him. Alvarez and Oscar are going to put Golovkin through a meat grinder in order for this fight to be made. I personally don't see it happening in the next couple of years at least.

It was daft of GGG to say that, but if he is willing, fair enough. However, that was for Mayweather or any other big fighters that are LMW or below. Canelo is the 160 champion and comes into the ring at 170+, the same as GGG. Therefore, there is no point in this fight being at any other weight other than 160.
