It sounds too good to be true really.

Juan Carlos Gomez - Yazmany Consuegra - Magomed Abdusalmanov - Oleg Platov - Eric Molina - Lucas Browne - Odlanier Solis - Carlos Takam - Fres Oquendo - Sam ***ton - Alexander Dimitrenko - Johnathon Banks. Replacement fighters (if necessary): Sherman Williams and Amir Mansour.

Sure seeing Amir Mansour and maybe Mike Perez as full participants in this thing instead of some other names would have been nice but that's very besides the point. The boxing organisations have lately only tried to harm boxing and to charge sanctioning fees, holding a world cup like this that will actually produce high quality fights and have positive effects on the rankings is simply out of character.

I won't believe that any of this is actually going to take place until I see videos of the fighters exchanging punches in the ring.

    We have

Juan Carlos Gomez ex cruiserweight champion - HW world title challanger.
Odlanier Solis - world title challanger.
Fres Oquendo - world title challanger.
    Alexander Dimitrenko - 34-2, 21
    Johnathon Banks 29-2-1, 19
All well known and respected contenders.

Then we have 3 undefeated fighters.

And then we've got 3 largely unknown fighters that have losses on their records but can't be written of regardless of that and then 1 fighter who really doesn't belong there.

I like the idea, and I see some solid heavies in there but also a couple of Prizefighter class guys and some I never even heard of.

Problem is, if the WBC comes up with something like this I can't shake the feeling there's a hidden agenda.
Can be that the WBC knows Vitali is going to retire anyway and they'll put the winner of this tourney up against Stiverne fot the vacant belt or someting simular.

And it's off.... Solidarity with Jose Suileman, what a bunch of bull****. This thing was never properly scheduled. Bunch of lies, showing solidarity with Jose by not doing something good for boxing... makes perfect sense.

Pretty a tournament of **** fighters. The only ones winning here is the WBC with the fee's they'll get for allowing these guys to take part.

  9. Sam ***ton is a bum. I wouldn't even sparr with him.
