    So some of the heavyweight pretenders and hangers-on will be eliminated in the first round. This tournament is very good for the heavyweight division.

    Interesting tourney and I certainly hope that some of these fights are televised in the US, but Solis should absolutely be the prohibitive favorite...assuming he keeps his weight around 250ish.

    Also, I though Abdusalamov was fighting Perez in Nov?

    That's probably why he's not in the opening round, despite being highly ranked.

    Some weeks ago I read that Manuel Charr would be in this tournament, but I don't see his name on the WBC website right now.

    Platov had potential at one time, but I imagine he's been ruined by inactivity by now.
