So does this mean you can only fight for a WBC on DAZN?

Good match. WBC and DAZN are both corrupt.

If I was a non-DAZN fighter and got a mandatory title shot at a DAZN fighter for the WBC, on DAZN, I’d be very worried.

Will DAZN fighters get preferential treatment when the WBC do their rankings?

Sanctioning bodies are a stain on boxing, it's not enough that they rob boxers of fees to be 'ranked' on some private vote or methology, now they think they're effectively promoters.

Get them and their god-awful "special belts" in the bin.

You have a good point but that's how it works.

Try to notice how almost all of Frank Warren's boxers are quickly ranked by the WBO :)

No it isn't. It's absolutely moronic projection from that Twitter poster.

If they had actually read the WBC's press release rather than just posting whatever horse**** came to their mind without evidence, they would have seen this:

So basically, DAZN will get access to the stuff the WBC posted on their socials, the convention / ranking stuff that ID Boxing broadcast last year, and any other background stuff that both sides can post to promote the other.

If that guy really thinks DAZN will somehow have a monopoly on WBC sanctioned fights - ones that *any* promoter can put on, regardless of broadcast rights - it says more about that poster's knowledge of boxing than it does this deal.

Saudi's pre-eminence might begin to threaten the sanctioning bodies hold on the sport in the coming years. It seems sensible for them to get a bit of easy promotion from a major broadcaster.

“DAZN and @WBCBoxing are announce a ground-breaking partnership.”

    Embarrassing.

Last time around the WBC muscled in on the Fury-Ngannou fight with a ridiculous "Riyadh Champion" belt; presumably HE saw through it since he's made his own WWE-style belt this time. I half expected Sulaiman to turn up and offer a special new ranking or something next week.
