Round 1

Reyes is landing some vicious body left hooks, and rights to the head. Mendez us backing up and holding his gloves over his head to protect the top of it as Reyes smashes down with both fists. Lots of activity by Reyes, with Mendez just trying to keep up.

This card is building up to a main event of Alejandro Sanabria vs. Jhunriel Ramonal, 12 rounds @ lightweight for the WBC Silver title.

Round 2

Mendez is throwing some long combos of left hooks and straight rights. His form is all solid, but somehow he just isn't getting through and landing on Reyes, while the taller and rangier man in the purple and gold trunks is scoring at will with his wide left hooks from outside. Oh, big exchange!! Mendez hurt Reyes with a combo!! Reyes came back and landed a hook and 1-2!! Nice back and forth action here!! Mendez backs up and jabs cautiously. They trade just before the bell, and Reyes lands a HUGE RIGHT HAND JUST AT THE BELL!! MENDEZ TAKES A KNEE, BLINKING TO SHUT THE BLOOD OUT OF HIS EYES!! Is that a knockdown?

Mendez reminds me of a shitty Rafael Marquez. Does anybody else see it?

 

Round 3

Hard right hands by Reyes, slamming down from up top!! He's got Mendez pushed down and slumping!! Mendez backs out and fights back with a few left jabs. Right hands to the body diving in by Mendez. Now some right hands elevated up to the jaw area. Mendez is going for it. Reyes lands body shots, though. Wild right misses by Mendez. Now a left hook, off. More rights miss. Mendez does best when he circles and jabs. His power punches are all far off the mark. Reyes now has discovered his own long jab and is scoring it from outside, and blocking Mendez's. Big 1-2 by Reyes, backs Mendez up! Reyes rushes in to follow up, but Mendez lands an uppercut. BIG OVERHAND RIGHT BY REYES!! ANOTHER!! Mendez is down!!!! Hands and knees! He takes several seconds of the count and tries to get up, but is waved off!!
