I want everyone to know about the BS the WBO is doing with puerto rican fighters. If you are a boxing fan, I don't have to tell you who is Ivan Calderon . He dominated 105lbs where he was the smallest fighter and moved up to 108lbs to try to get some money because nobody wanted to unify against him. At 108lbs he beat Hugo Cazares for the WBO title. The victory wasn't easy. Cazares is a fighter that steps into the ring at about 130lbs. Cazares fought one time after his lost. But it was at 112lbs. Now the WBO made him the mandatory challenger for Calderon. In other words, a mandatory rematch. Now Carlos Quintana, who beat Paul Williams for the WBO 147lbs is getting another mandatory rematch. Meaning Paul Williams didn't even had a fight after his lost and he is #1 challenger. But that is not the worst part. Quintana got 160,000 for the first fight. They are trying to get about 400,000 for the rematch. But Quintana doesn't want the rematch because they want to pay the now challenger more money than they are going to pay to the now champion. How is that possible?? But the WBO wants to do it anywas so the fight is going to be auctioned. I just feel this organization is not looking for the best interest of the boxers. What do you think?
Organism ??? :huh :wall :desk c :rofl Sorry folks . . . just can't help it . . . I'm dying in laughter now. I'm out . . . signing off before I get a heart attack.:good
If I want to take a english test I go to school. I know enough english to make more money than most of you. But I have to write quickly because I have more important things to do. Yeah I was kind of thinking in spanish because I have people talking spanish here. So I used a few wrong words. So what? I think you understand what I tried to say anyway so I won't even fix it. When you have a serious opinion you can answer. In the mean time: SHUT THE **** UP, *****!
But I have to admit I even made myself laugh a little with the organism/ organization thing. That is what happens when you translate literally. In spanish we say "organismo" or "organizacion" and is the same thing. But anyway. Too late now. But the idea is there and I don't think what they are doing is right.
what the hell are you whining about? cazares won against calderon IMO. calderon was hanging on to cazares like a little chinese ***** for dear life in that match. why is it such a bad thing for them to have a rematch? and when it comes to quintana, williams is still the bigger draw so he'd still have the bigger share. did rahman have a bigger purse that lennox in their second match? hell no. another thing is that champs more often that not have rematch clauses in their contracts. so it is not a shocker that williams is in line for a title shot.
look, quintana should get the 400k. there are two options for him. if he maintains the position that he should earn more than the challenger, then he will not face any of the big names in the division. and if this happens, he most likely won't get 400k for a fight because he'll be in a match with a nobody. that simple.
Well, I see the point of Quintana not being a big attraction. But I still don't think a challenger should make more than the champion. I think that is very disrespectfull to the hard work of a boxer. Calderon did hold during two rounds were he was very close to get KO. But he won't must of the rounds. You can't win a fight by winning two rounds. My biggest problem with Calderon case is he has been trying to unify titles for more than 5 years know. But everyone at 105lbs was running awat from him. His promoter already offered money to Sosa and Solis to fight and both refused to fight Calderon. I recognize is going to be very hard to win against Cazares again. Its just seems unfair such a talented boxer never had the chance to unify when others have the chance and keeo running away from the challengers
Yeah yeah !! You can laugh too. I know some people feel very big when they hide behind their computer monitors. Go ahead. Let it out. I understand you don't even dare to speak when you are out of the house and you need your moment behind the monitor.
if champs don't want to unify, it's their choice. ivan should just take another route to building his legacy. i really don't get you point with the champion getting a bigger pay thing. in the end boxing is a business. pac made more than jmm in their last fight and nobody complained about it. even jmm said he was willing to take a pay cut in order to make that match. a could name a hunder instances when the champion got less then the challenger. castillejo-dela hoya, baldomir-pbf, griffin-rjj and many others. that opinion of yours does not make much sense dude.
