The WBO’s decision to put together a five-strong team to review last week’s hotly-disputed welterweight title fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley may have a bearing on who the Filipino fights in October.

Pacquiao, 33, and promoter Bob Arum have both leaned towards a fourth contest with Juan Manuel Marquez since the uproar over Bradley’s split decision victory, although the

This will mean that a proposed quadrilogy wth Marquez would have to put on the back burner, unless Arum stepped in and worked something out with World Boxing Organisation between themselves to find a resolution.

One scenario could be to persuade Bradley to vacate the title and allow Pacquiao and Marquez to fight for the newly-vacant belt. This would leave the American still in possession of the 140lb title and in a position to defend it in a high-profile bout later in the year, possibly against someone like Top Rank's own Brandon Rios.

‘Desert Storm’ has been very vocal on retaining the title he believes he rightly won in the ring, but ultimately, it would be Arum that possesses the power to overrule the 28 year-old as he is adamant that he does not want to see a rematch and will always favour his star fighter in Pacquiao.

I don't get it. Pacquiao doesn't have the belt, he doesn't have to agree to any immediate rematch ordered by the WBO. It's not like they'd strip Bradley for his ordered opponent turning down a fight. They have no leverage here.

They could however strip Bradley if he dose not fight Pacquiao next. The problem hear is of course that Pacquiao just might not fight Bradley. This would likely mean that the WBO 147 championship becomes vacant, with the posibility that Pacquiao/Marquez IV being for said vacant championship.
This is if they do the wrong thing and overturn the result of the fight.
Pacquoiao probbly won that fight, but not by enough to make the fuss that has been made.

It will be so fun to leave Bradley bitching for a rematch that he'll never get :)

Wrong. They can order an immediate rematch, but if Pac doesn't want it, he doesn't have to take it. Pac doesn't hold a belt, so the only thing they could do is drop (or remove) him from their rankings.

If Pac wants it, and Bradley doesn't fight him, they strip Bradley.

so its either way. Both pac and bradley lose if neither wants a rematch and have no power.

WBO will do what Pacquiao wants if they know what's good for them. They have absolutely no bearing in who he chooses to fight next.

I prefer the JMM rematch. Age is gonna catch up to JMM soon and the sooner they fight the better. No need for a pac/bradle rematch. everybody knows who won.

Manny Pacquiao shouldn't fight either Marquez or Bradley. He's already beaten them both. He needs a fight vs Mayweather, Berto, or Martinez, Arum wants the JMM fight only to make a lot of money. Manny needs to fight once or twice more and retire, we don't need to see another boring JMM fight or another bradley ass kicking. Let's see Manny end his career on a good strong fight.

I'd rather watch JMM Vs. Bradley.
PAC can kick rocks & wait for the winner.
