Doesn't the WBC already have that? I think Wilder is the champion of their ulaverse title.

 

I think you can safely say your career has been an absolute bust if you haven't won at least one of those. We're getting to the point where there's one belt for every 4 active boxers.

 

WBA has five 'world champion' titles
- WBA Undisputed World Champion
- WBA Unified World Champion
- WBA Super World Champion
- WBA (regular) World Champion
- WBA Interim Champion

The organizing body gives 'undisputed' title to the one who unified all the titles (WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF) and 'unified' to the one who unified WBA with other 1-2 titles

'Super' champion is basically the most controversial, odd and has no clear definition. What I heard that this title is created so that the newly elevated 'super champion' can focus on fighting other titlist. Some boxers got elevated after certain number of title defense (Chris John, Takashi Uchiyama). But others are quite vague and strange.

As for the 'interim' champion, they now consider it more like No.1 contender.

 

It's perfectly simple, allow me to explain. super champion is better than regular champion but not as good as the WBA Super Duper champion, who, like Frodo and Samwise bows to no-one... EXCEPT the holder of the WBA NO REALLY THIS ONE IS THE BEST SUPER DUPER WITH A CHERRY ON TOP CHAMPION OF THE WORLD NO BACKSIES belt.

 

What about the WBC Emeritus Champion?

 

Boxing needs less belts, not more.
