    Ahh, that's the one.
    Then Mercer gave up the title to fight Holmes, when he should have faced Moorer. Which could have been a really entertaining fight.

    Yes he was. I saw that card live. The other combatants in that card were Morrison vs Tillis and Seldon vs Ribalta. Damiani was outboxing Mercer up until the ninth round when Ray landed a left hook that broke Damiani’s nose. Francesco was a 1984 Olympic medalist. Won his first 27 fights. Beat semi-decent opponents in Biggs, Broad, Gregg and Duplooy. He’s kind of underrated in my opinion

    It definitely had the potential to be a great fight for sure. That being said, Holmes is one of my all time favorite fighters and I absolutely love his fight with Mercer. I must have watched that fight 10 times by now and each time I see it I get something new from it.
